Shihan Jorge Decena is a 5th Degree Black Belt (5th Dan) in Shotokan Karate-Do.

He has being training for over 29 years, since February 1975, under Master Toyotaro Miyazaki, 8th Dan, in Queens, New York.

Shihan Decena founded the Hispanic Karate Organization, in Passaic, New Jersey in 1981, and is the Director of the USKDA Southwest Region, and Head Instructor of Shotokan Karate-Do Academy in Arlington, Texas with over 400 active members.

Shihan Decena has been teaching men, women and children of all ages for over 25 years.

He has taught over 5,000 students, promoted over 100 Black Belts, and developed over 50 students to become National Champions, while at the same time is a successful competitor in State, Regional, National and International tournaments, winning over 500 Championships.

 Shihan Decena continues his training and Martial Arts Education with some of the highest ranking Masters.  His studies and knowledge go far beyond Karate, as he pursues rankings in Kobudo (weaponry), and specialized self-defense techniques, such as take-down techniques and throwing

 Member of the United States National Karate Team in 1994.  Winner of Gold Medal in Individual Black Belt Men Kumite (Sparring), and Gold Medal Winner in the Team USA Sparring competition in the World Championships held in Panama, 1994.

Member of T. Miyazaki’s U.S Shoto-Kai

Awarded Texas State Champion (Eagle Award) in his first 2 years of competition in Texas, by the Traditional Karate League of Texas (1999-2000).

 Shihan Decena makes his home in Arlington, Texas with his wife Rosio and son Angelo who also train Karate.
